2012 Fund-a-Dream

A Northwest Choirs’ parent once summed up his child’s experience with the organization in these words: "Great training, great music, great friends. Our son will draw on this experience for the rest of his life."

At Northwest Choirs, we believe that every child who meets our entry requirements should be able to have these same experiences and reap the benefits of a world-class music education. In fact, we believe so strongly, we have made a total commitment to ensure that our programs are accessible regardless of financial ability.

Those closely tied to Northwest Boychoir and Vocalpoint! Seattle, have witnessed firsthand the role our organization plays in the lives of our members and their families. Exceptional opportunities are made available to our choristers.

This past year alone, our members presented the world premiere of Vedem by American composer Lori Laitman, recorded the soundtrack for the movie Let Me In with music by Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino, performed Carmina Burana with the Seattle Symphony, attended a successful and fun summer camp, and much more.

In order to make these amazing opportunities and the highest level of music education available to all gifted young singers, we are constantly growing our Financial Aid Fund. The Gala Fund-a-Dream is your opportunity to help us meet our goal of helping every family in need. Nearly 30 percent of our families rely on us for financial assistance, representing $70,000 in scholarship annually. As membership grows and our economy weakens, the level of need increases.

The goal of the 2012 Fund-a-Dream is to ensure the vitality of our Lee Raines Memorial Financial Aid Fund.

Gala guests will be offered the opportunity to make this dream come true for the members of our choirs. If you are unable to attend the Gala, you can still make your contribution.

Help Northwest Choirs fund the dreams of gifted and talented young musicians - and give them opportunities and experiences that will last a lifetime.

2012 Tour Fund

In March, the Northwest Boychoir will present public concerts in Eastern Washington and Idaho as part of its regional Mini-Tour. The 70-member Northwest Boychoir will perform a program of classical choral works and traditional American folk songs.

The 2012 tour fundraising goal is $3,500. You can help support the 2012 Tour Financial Aid Fund and Northwest Choirs' total commitment to ensure that every eligible member of Performing Choir and Vocalpoint has the opportunity to participate in this tour by making a donation today!

2012 Annual Fund

Your donation dollars directly impact young people. The Northwest Choirs has more than 200 members representing more than 115 public and private schools. Twenty-five percent of Choir families rely on more than $70,000 in financial assistance for tuition and summer camp fees.

Tuition covers one-half of the Northwest Choirs operating expenses. The other 50 percent comes from donations and grants. This Annual Fund will help cover the costs of offering a unique musical education to talented and committed young people across the region. Without the support of our generous donors, we would need to dramatically raise our tuition (severely limiting participation) or cut programs. This simply is not an option for our organization.

Members of the Northwest Choirs are the next generation of musicians and music lovers. Many of our members pursue the arts at the conservatory and university level. Many choose other career paths. But all members graduate from our programs with a passion for music that stays with them for the rest of their lives. They also graduate as leaders, ready to give back to their communities.
