The Northwest Choirs is thankful for the support of hundreds of families, alumni, foundations, businesses, and individual donors. Thanks to your dedication and commitment, we continue to provide over $50,000 annually to members who need financial assistance to participate in our programs. We also are able to maintain a thriving arts education organization at a time when many similar groups are finding it increasingly difficult to stay alive.
As a nonprofit group, the Northwest Choirs relies on a carefully-managed mix of revenue producing activities. Tuition accounts for about half of our annual revenue. Concert ticket revenue, CD sales, and fundraising events complete our revenue picture. |
We ask all member families to support each of our three fundraising events: A Fall Annual Fund Drive A Spring Raffle A Winter Black Tie & Blue Jeans Gala
Nearly 25 percent of our annual revenue is raised through these three events with monies going toward both the operating budget and the Financial Aid Fund.
A note about Auctions: For many years, we conducted an annual auction. Nearly 10 years ago, we made a strategic decision to get out of the auction business, and to rely on the strength of our three annual fundraising events. The thinking behind this decision is that auctions require vast amounts of volunteer time and effort in order to be successful. While our auctions were always successful fundraising events, they drained our volunteer resources. Our decision to replace the auction with other fundraisers was made out of respect for our families and their busy schedules. So, while we do not put on an auction, we do ask our families to show their support for our program through our other fundraising efforts.
