The Northwest Choirs exists thanks to generous donations from member families, community supporters, alumni and their families, private Foundations, and the public sector. We believe the reasons to support our program are compelling:
The Northwest Boychoir and Vocalpoint! Seattle provide the best vocal music education in the Pacific Northwest. Our class sizes are small, and our faculty is thoroughly trained in teaching children and young adults to master the skills of singing. Our program is built on seven progressively-graded training choirs so that young singers acquire essential skills before moving on to the next level. Our program is year-round with weekly rehearsals, summer camps, a rigorous performance schedule, and opportunities to perform with the highest levels of professional performing groups in the Pacific Northwest. Our members graduate knowing how to read music fluently, read rhythms, and perform great choral literature and contemporary works at the highest professional levels both as individual and ensemble vocalists. |
The Northwest Choirs’ programs are available to all talented young people, regardless of financial resources. One of our core beliefs is that every qualified student should be given the opportunity to benefit from our programs. Upwards of 35 percent of our members rely on scholarship assistance. Thanks to the generosity of donors, we are able to offer $50,000 in scholarships annually to our members. We need your help so that we can continue to support our students who rely on our scholarship program.
Tuition covers about 50% of our annual budget. We depend on your generosity to keep our work going. Without the support of foundations, corporations and people like you, we would need to raise our tuition or cut programs.
Members of the Northwest Boychoir and Vocalpoint! Seattle are the next generation of musicians and music lovers. Many of our members pursue the arts at the conservatory and university level. Many others choose different career paths. But all members graduate from our programs with a passion for music that they take with them for the rest of their life. Study after study confirms the fact that students who study music are better learners at large. Our members learn essential life skills such as commitment, dedication to hard work, and devotion to excellence.
For all of these reasons, please consider making a generous donation to the Northwest Choirs.
